Craft Corner: Sand Art

Last week I had a family sand art program and everyone that came had an excellent time. I wish I could take full credit for this wonderful craft but I can't. I found this idea on http://www.familyfun.com/. Family Fun is an awesome resource to have at your finger tips. I find really good ideas there.


What you need for the craft:
1. Empty glass jars - I saved spaghetti jars for this project. Wash them out really good and scrape the label from the glass.
2. Elmer's glue
3. Sponge brushes - I found a pack of sponge brushes at Hobby Lobby that had different sizes and shapes.
4. Colored Sand - I got that from Hobby Lobby as well.
5. Paper plates
6. Big bowls


Pour the sand into the bowls. Pour some glue onto a paper plate. Dip a sponge brush into the glue and paint the glue onto the outside of the jar. Holding your jar over the bowl with sand sprinkle the sand over the glue. The excess sand will fall back into the bowl. Remember be creative and have fun.
Since you are sprinkling the sand over the bowl you might have a lot of sand left to use again.
